Introduction to Night time Bike Riding

27th Oct 2023 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Have you ever wanted to experience what it’s like riding at night time? As part of our Dark Skies Fringe Festival, we are offering introductory after dark sessions in partnership with Sutton Bank Bikes. You will be taken out on a guided bike ride along the green route (3 miles) at Sutton Bank National Park Centre. This is for people experienced in riding bikes on off-road terrain but who are keen to see how different riding at night can be. You will need to bring your own bike light (for those participating in the event, you can purchase a light from Sutton Bank Bikes at a discounted rate), if you need advice on what type of light is appropriate for riding at night, please call Sutton Bank Bikes.

You will either need to bring your own bike which needs to be in good condition for off-road biking, or you have the option to hire one from SB Bikes. Whilst you are out everyone will be encouraged to turn their lights off for a period to really experience night time riding at its best, see how heightened your other senses can become and view what’s around you in a completely different way. Plus, as an International Dark Skies Reserve, don’t forget to look up at the night sky!

Included in the price is soup and a roll from Park Life Café (drinks are available at your own cost). Please contact Park Life Café directly if you have any specific dietary requirements: sbc-parklifecafe@deepbeatentertainment.com.

Groups of up to 6 people will be taken out with a guide along the green route which may take up to an hour.
Minimum age is 12 years, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
